Best known as the team behind restaurants Tequila Mockingbird and Esteban, Atticus Hospitality continues to grow within the Sydney dining scene with the arrival of Casa Esquina in the heart of Balmain.

At Atticus Hospitality, dining experience is a blend and balance of great food, service, and environment, each venue has been meticulously assembled to represent the best of each. 

The food showcases creative and fresh dishes authentic to their culinary roots, telling stories through unique plates. The beverage lists reflects an undying love for all things Latin America from world class wines to artisanal Tequila’s and Mezcals. 

Each venue space has been lovingly designed to offer a harmony of high quality finishes with relaxed comfort, creating an unrivalled dining experience within Sydney’s most picturesque dining hubs including Paddington’s iconic Five Ways, Sydney’s remarkable Temperance Lane, and Balmain’s iconic Elliott Street.

OUR BEGINNING

At the helm, Michael Fegent, owner and operator, brings his extensive Latin American travels to Atticus Hospitality. Inspired by the region's vibrant cuisine and culture, Michael translates his experiences to the Sydney dining scene.

We cultivate a close-knit environment at Tequila Mockingbird. Forged by years of friendship and a successful track record, our team fosters a fun and personal atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Central and Latin America.

Our mission is to transport our guests on a journey through each cuisines country of origin, from food to beverage to feeling. We offer authentic dining experiences incorporating a nod to the diversity and ingenuity of the Australian dining scene.  

You’ll find unique fusions and imaginative modern Australian twists throughout each menu. Above all we aim to provide an experience that showcases all that we value in a dining experience, from high quality food and beverage offerings to exceptional service in a unique environment. 

OUR RESTAURANTS

Opening on Paddington’s famous Five Ways’ 2016, our Latin American-inspired haven - Tequila Mockingbird - continues to flourish with locals and visitors alike.

Nestled in the buzzing Paddington Five Ways, Tequila Mockingbird first opened it’s restored doors on August 2016. You’ll find us in a heritage-listed, converted 1898 terrace. There are three completely unique and separate spaces to dine in, each with their own special character and atmosphere.

Opening late 2020, Esteban has a honed focus on Mexican cuisine and beverage. The heritage listed space has been stripped back to it’s original beauty, exposing sandstone brick, towering archways and timber beams. With immediate proximity to the Sydney lightrail and CBD shopping presinct, Esteban is easy access with a selection of dining spaces & menu offerings to suit you.

The newest edition to the Atticus Hospitality family - Casa Esquina - fired up the food scene on Balmain’s Elliott St early 2024.Modern interiors are contrasted by forces of nature - a laurel tree declares the balcony it's home and a roaring open flame parrilla can be seen from every angle. Exotic plants transport you to faraway lands while forging a visceral connection to nature, food and life.
